The Challenge
BTATS supports apprentices across Alberta’s building trades, but had limited visibility into how apprentices were progressing through their training. Tracking was fragmented, making it difficult to identify apprentices who were struggling, understand common challenges across the province, and take proactive steps to improve completion rates. Without a centralized system, BTATS could not effectively monitor outcomes or provide targeted support where it was needed most.
What LegacyX Delivered
LegacyX built a web-based apprenticeship management platform that gave BTATS province-wide visibility into apprentice progress for the first time. The system allows BTATS to monitor apprentices throughout their training, track milestones and completion status, identify at-risk individuals early, and understand the broader patterns affecting apprenticeship outcomes across Alberta’s building trades.
The platform was designed to support BTATS’s core mission: helping apprentices succeed by understanding the challenges they face and improving the support available to them.
Why It Matters
Better data means better outcomes. BTATS and member locals could make informed decisions about where to focus resources, which apprentices need additional support, and what systemic challenges are affecting completion rates – turning fragmented tracking into actionable intelligence across the province.
