The Challenge
Union organizing campaigns depend on building relationships with workers, collecting signed membership cards, managing contact data, and filing compliant labour board applications. Most unions handled these processes through paper forms, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools – creating inefficiencies, data gaps, and compliance risk during time-sensitive campaigns.
What LegacyX Built
LegacyX designed and launched UnionX Organizing as a purpose-built SaaS platform for union membership development and organizing campaigns. The platform digitizes the entire organizing workflow: prospective members can sign cards digitally from a mobile phone or computer, confirm via email and text, and pay fees through integrated payment processing.
On the back end, organizing teams manage worker and employer data, maintain interaction notes, generate reports, and track campaign progress through a centralized dashboard. The platform streamlines card signing, contact management, and labour board submission preparation – replacing fragmented manual processes with a single, purpose-built system.
UnionX Organizing was one of LegacyX’s first SaaS product launches, built from the ground up based on close collaboration with union organizing teams to ensure the platform matched how organizers actually work in the field.
Why It Matters
This project demonstrates LegacyX’s ability to go beyond custom client work and build, launch, and operate a standalone SaaS product. From product design through development, deployment, and ongoing operation – UnionX Organizing is a working example of LegacyX taking a domain-specific problem and turning it into a commercially viable software platform.
